Olivia Culpo and Christian McCaffrey have finally tied the knot!
The model and the San Francisco 49ers running back got married on Saturday at a charming chapel in Watch Hill, Rhode Island. Vogue shared exclusive photos of Olivia Culpo in her breathtaking wedding dress.
Olivia, 32, designed her dress with Dolce & Gabbana. Her goal? To create something “as serious” as her commitment to Christian McCaffrey, 28. The elegant ballgown had a crew neck, long sleeves, and a buttoned back. Olivia completed the look with a 16-foot lace veil.
“I didn’t want it to exude sex in any way, shape, or form,” Olivia told Vogue. “I wanted it to feel effortless and as if it’s complimenting me, not overpowering me. There’s so much beauty in simplicity.”
She added, “This is the first, last, and only wedding dress I tried on.” The former Miss Rhode Island USA and Miss Universe shared that marrying in a church was their “number one priority.”
An Exclusive, Private Affair
The ceremony took place at Watch Hill Chapel. Workers used blue umbrellas to keep the bride hidden from view. The reception followed at the Ocean House hotel, which was closed to the public for the event. A draped tent on the lawn provided a private space for guests.
Last week, Olivia shared photos on Instagram of her and Christian boarding a private plane ahead of their wedding. Flower petals filled the aisle, and she captioned the post with “Let it begin,” adding a bride emoji. A menu card labeled “Olivia & Christian Wedding Flight” was also shown.
Celebrating Love and Commitment
Earlier in June, Olivia celebrated Christian’s birthday on Instagram, writing, “Happy birthday to the best thing that ever happened to me! I can’t wait to marry you.”
The couple, who have been together since 2019, announced their engagement in April 2023. Olivia posted a series of black-and-white photos, including one of Christian down on one knee.
“We tried to keep this quiet for as long as possible, but word travels fast,” she wrote on her Instagram Story. “I’m marrying my best friend. I love you so much, fiance.”
Breaking the Athlete Dating Rule
In a 2022 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Olivia explained why she broke her rule of not dating another athlete after previous relationships with Ryan Lochte, Tim Tebow, and Danny Amendola.
“He’s just the best. I feel like he is really everything that I could ever ask for,” she said. “So I never have to worry about anything. I think that was the reason why I didn’t want to date an athlete, no offense, because there is a reputation there.”
