PORK EXPORT SALES SURGE TO MARKETING YEAR HIGH

Pork export sales surged to a marketing year high in the week ending June 27th, reflecting robust global demand for U.S. pork. Key markets including Mexico, China, and Japan drove this increase, highlighting sustained international interest in American pork products.

Strong Demand Signals and Market Trends

  • Pork Sales: The USDA reported significant week-to-week growth in pork sales, surpassing average expectations. This uptick underscores the resilience of U.S. pork in global markets.

  • Top Exporters: Mexico emerged as the largest buyer with 34,600 tons purchased, followed by China (9,500 tons) and Japan (3,700 tons), indicating diverse market penetration.

Other Agricultural Exports

  • Wheat: Exports totaled 805,300 tons, with notable purchases from Mexico (154,700 tons) and the Philippines (154,400 tons), setting a positive tone for the 2024/25 marketing year.

  • Corn: Despite a decline in weekly sales, cumulative exports for 2023/24 reached 2.116 billion bushels, led by significant orders from Mexico.

  • Soybeans: Sales for the current marketing year stand at 1.646 billion bushels, with future deliveries primarily to undisclosed destinations, supporting continued export momentum.
